Day of the Libraries

  • Literature, Program for children

On Saturday, 24 October, the DAI Library will once again be helping to celebrate the nationwide “Day of Libraries”. At the DAI, we already start the festivities on Friday, 23 October – as the conclusion of “Frederick Day”, the literature and reading festival in Baden-Württemberg.

On both days, visitors can be tempted by Ophelia’s Book Fair – as every year, Ophelia offers good and especially beautifully designed English-language books. For children AND adults, by the way!

Throughout the library there are displays of the various courses currently on offer – admire the little works of art being made in “Crafts and Colours”, or take a peek inside the “Little Scientists” lab. Short online tutorials for each course can be seen on the library’s Instagram channel. And around 11 a.m., Colleen will be giving an English-language Story Time!

At craft tables, kids can make new things from the pages of old books – floating mobiles or a zoo of “book animals” can be created from them.

Of course, everything takes place under the current hygiene regulations.

Admission is free.
