Hermann Parzinger

Culture existed long before the invention of writing. This is the notion proven in Hermann Parzinger’s, “Kinder des Prometheus”, a work which tells of the global and universal history of mankind. The renowned Prehistorian dismisses prejudices held against cultures which are not based on writing, and encourages material research. Parzinger reads the history of earlier societies from stone, from wood, bone, buildings, gravestones and cave paintings; never straying from the principles of empirical research. In the Prehistoric era, as is still the case today, food and survival were the main drivers of human activity.

Prof. Dr. Hermann Parzinger is a Prehistorian and President of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation (SPK, Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz), the largest cultural foundation in Germany.
