Discussion Group – US People, Politics, Presidency

The current update on what affects people in the US. Growing splits in society, heated discussions on race and inequality, discussions on the electoral system, concerns about climate change with more intense fires and hurricanes – all in a highly charged political atmosphere. The group touches on these issues and others chosen by the participants and discusses them with the help of newspaper articles, TV interviews, and other media. Occasionally, experts from the US are involved online.
Discussions are led by Joseph Lorenz. Joe received his PhD in (Biological) Anthropology from The University of California at Davis and has extensive experience in laboratory research and teaching at the university level in the US.
