Library Assistant (f\/m\/d) – Parental Leave Replacement.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The German-American Institute (DAI) Heidelberg is a non-profit cultural institution dedicated to promoting democracy and providing information about social, political and cultural events on both sides of the Atlantic. In addition to a comprehensive program – consisting of lectures, event series, seminars, discussions, readings in both German and English, concerts, films and exhibitions – the DAI offers a wide range of educational opportunities and the only public English-language library in the region.<\/p>\n

For our library, we are looking for part-time reinforcement as a parental leave replacement.<\/p>\n

Your activities<\/strong>
\n– Lending and user services, maintenance of reader accounts
\n– Control and reordering of media, stock maintenance, presentation of media to the public
\n– Ordering and cataloging new media, book maintenance
\n– Support at events<\/p>\n

Your profile<\/strong>
\n– Training as a specialist for media and information services, library assistant or comparable experience
\n– Good command of English
\n– Pleasure in dealing with international visitors, good teamwork and communication skills as well as service orientation
\n– Ability to work independently and with care, organizational skills and initiative
\n– Confident handling of MS Office applications and digital media
\n– Willingness to work regularly on Saturdays<\/p>\n
