Time and space – what appear to us in our everyday lives as fundamentally different dimensions are, as we have known since Einstein’s theory of relativity, bizarrely and inextricably intertwined.<\/p>\n

Let’s imagine ourselves in the distant future of light-fast package tours and book a return ticket to the edge of the universe! On this Star Walk, we will find out what relativistic adventures we would experience, why the extra charge for a window seat in the rocket is not worth it, why we should fly around black holes and why we should take a few books, spit bags and all our friends and relatives with us on our journey instead of a camera.<\/p>\n

We end our hike through the evening forest with the realization of why the concept of space-time is of fundamental importance not only for current and future space travel, but also for our understanding of the universe itself. And thus – not least – for our human existence.<\/p>\n

Carsten Dolbert<\/strong> is a geoscientist by training. He works as a project coordinator, has trained as a systemic counselor and therapist and has been a volunteer in international disaster relief for many years.<\/p>\n
