For more than 50 years, researchers have been working on making this process usable on Earth. An almost unlimited and emission-free energy source &#8211; could this be an important contribution to solving the world&#8217;s energy problem?<\/p>\n<p>Based on the description of the &#8220;fusion reactor sun&#8221;, Hartmut Zohm shows how a fusion power plant is to be realized on Earth. He provides insights into the plans of the nuclear fusion plant under construction at the ITER experiment and discusses its role in the energy supply of the future.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prof. Dr. Hartmut Zohm<\/strong> is director at the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics in Garching near Munich, where he is responsible for the operation of the tokamak experiment &#8220;ASDEX Upgrade&#8221;.
