PR employee (f/m/d) Media design and graphics The German-American Institute (DAI) Heidelberg is a non-profit cultural institution dedicated to promoting democracy and providing information about social, political and cultural events on both sides of the Atlantic. In addition to a comprehensive program – consisting of lectures, event series, seminars, discussions in both German and English, concerts, films and exhibitions – the DAI offers a wide range of educational opportunities, including a language school, a public English-language library, a language support project for children and young people, several international kindergartens and an international school. For our interdisciplinary communication department we are looking for reinforcement in the field of media design and graphics: Your activities Always exciting new projects with out-of-the-box thinking New and further development of the corporate design (in particular logos and key visuals for divisions or special programme items) Further development of existing templates for various print products (such as posters, flyers and brochures) as well as incorporating current data into templates Timing and organisation of print projects: from the deadline for content to the dispatch of the finished print products Professional, secure creation of print data, including print finishes and special folds Consultation with colleagues on printing possibilities and feasibility Friendly communication with external service providers, advertisers and printers Maintenance of content in the existing content management system (WordPress) Creation of templates in MS Office programs (Word, Powerpoint) Fluent with interactive Google Apps (Gmail, Drive, Sheets, Docs) Occasional photo shoots of the college or events General office duties such as filing invoices, negotiating phone calls, inventory management, and database maintenance Your profile Training as a media designer, communication designer or comparable training At least two years of professional experience (creation and design of print data) Good eye for target-oriented design, colour design and motif selection Independent way of working and holistic view of projects Very good knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (Indesign, Photoshop and Illustrator) Knowledge of WordPress and skilled handling of photo and film cameras or willingness to acquire knowledge Confident handling of MS-Office Fluent German and English, both written and spoken Willingness to contribute to a friendly, active team Pronounced authentic cultural affinity, enthusiasm, creativity and flexibility We offer you a permanent, interesting and challenging position with opportunities for personal development in a cultural institution that has been a fixture in the city of Heidelberg for decades, with supra-regional appeal and international standards.
