The German-American Institute (DAI) Heidelberg is a non-profit cultural institution dedicated to promoting democracy and providing information about social, political and cultural events on both sides of the Atlantic. In addition to a comprehensive program – consisting of lectures, event series, seminars, discussions in both German and English, concerts, films and exhibitions – the DAI offers a wide range of educational opportunities, including a language school, a public English-language library, a language support project for children and young people, several international kindergartens and an international school.
For our cross-divisional communications department, we are looking for immediate reinforcement in the area of online and social media:
Your activities
- Independent operational support and strategic development of all social media channels as well as the DAI newsletter, taking into account current trends and new target groups.
- Editorial and content support as well as further development of the DAI website
- Development of digital concepts, campaigns and content for social media, website and newsletter
- Further development and support of the DAI’s digital offerings, especially in the area of streaming and video on demand
- Conception, editing and creation of further cross-media measures with a focus on print, promotion, press and corporate design
- Reporting, analysis and optimisation of all online key figures of the DAI
- Management of external agencies and internal staff in the above areas
- General press-related and administrative tasks
Your profile
- Completed studies with a focus on marketing, communication or media management, cultural studies or comparable education/training
- At least 2 years of professional experience in the development, conception and implementation of cross-media strategies and measures with a focus on online and social media
- Distinct authentic cultural affinity, enthusiasm, creativity and flexibility
- Passion for storytelling, creative content and digital communication
- Very good knowledge of common online key figures and their strategic importance
- Sound technical and professional knowledge of common social media platforms and tools as well as content management systems
- Knowledge of streaming and broadcasting tools as well as basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud or willingness to acquire it
- High linguistic awareness and good, target group-specific expressiveness as well as basic knowledge of SEO
- Confident handling of MS-Office
- Fluent German and English, both written and spoken
