Corona Gold Writing contest for kids ages 8 and up and anyone else who feels like they should! Update: The top 20 stories in the “Corona Gold” writing contest from July 2020 can be found here. The “Corona Gold” writing contest announcement. For many weeks, we’ve all spent more time at home than we’re used to and than we wanted to. Especially for children this remains a challenge: they have to study at home, they can hardly meet their friends, even leisure activities such as the sports club or visits to the swimming pool are omitted. Instead, they spend a lot of time in front of the PC – and much more time alone with themselves than usual. At the same time, however, this state of affairs is an invitation. Namely: to try out something new! Children who participate in the DAI writing program “HD Ink – Ideas on Paper” have sent us great texts – “Corona Gold”, so to speak. And so we came up with the idea of launching a writing competition. We want to give more room to the children’s imagination, which is getting short shrift at the moment alongside all the schoolwork packages. We want to encourage them to tell stories and play with language. Because children are full of stories! Some just start writing. Others want guidance: How do you invent the heroes of a story? How do you find a form, how do you make the story exciting? For this we have Tutorial created! On just one page, every child who has the beginnings of a story inside them gets easy-to-follow instructions on how to continue writing. Plus, Playmobil characters show how a story is made in a fun movie. Poems or other art forms are just as welcome! The best stories will be awarded and published on our homepage. You want to participate? It’s that easy! Check out our Tutorial and our film if you like. Of course you can also just start with your story! Send your story with your full name and age by e-mail to: email@example.com. The deadline is 15 July 2020. All aspiring authors from the age of 8 can take part. And: There are many great prizes to be won! And now: Get to your pens – we are looking forward to your ideas! We would like to thank Marielle Auriga, lecturer for creative writing and German as a foreign language, who supported us with her expertise and the didactic preparation of the content on a voluntary basis. Conditions of participation: The “Corona Gold” writing competition is run by the DAI Heidelberg, Schurman-Gesellschaft e.V.. All children and young people under the age of 18 are eligible to participate with the consent of their legal guardians. To enter, participants must submit their stories or other art forms via email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Only submissions with the child’s name and age will be considered. Deadline for entries is Wednesday, July 15, 2020 and a variety of prizes will be drawn from all entries. Payment of the prize and recourse to the courts are excluded.
