About us Children with a migration background unfortunately all too often remain speechless and fall by the wayside at school. With our support we want to help these children to overcome language barriers. We want these children and young people to develop a positive relationship with the German language and learn to use it creatively, confidently and confidently. Our initiative was inspired by the American project “826 Valencia” by the American author Dave Eggers. More information about the author’s work with immigrant children can be found here. Since its foundation in 2010, the project HD Ink – Ideas on Paper! has been extremely popular. Numerous children have already been looked after and supported by our dedicated volunteer tutors. The children and young people come from all over the world: Rwanda, China, Yemen, Syria, Russia, Tunisia, Albania and Turkey are just a few examples of this diversity of nations. In our cooperation with schools in the region, we soon learned that strengthening language skills is important for all children. We have realised the enthusiasm with which children are involved when they write their own works under guidance and are allowed to give free rein to their creativity and imagination. That is why we have expanded our offer and now offer writing workshops for all children and young people.
