The German-American Institute (DAI) Heidelberg is a non-profit cultural institution dedicated to promoting democracy and providing information about social, political and cultural events on both sides of the Atlantic. In addition to a comprehensive program – consisting of lectures, event series, seminars, discussions, readings in both German and English, concerts, films and exhibitions – the DAI offers a wide range of educational opportunities and the only public English-language library in the region.
For our library, we are looking for part-time reinforcement as a parental leave replacement.
Your activities
– Lending and user services, maintenance of reader accounts
– Control and reordering of media, stock maintenance, presentation of media to the public
– Ordering and cataloging new media, book maintenance
– Support at events
Your profile
– Training as a specialist for media and information services, library assistant or comparable experience
– Good command of English
– Pleasure in dealing with international visitors, good teamwork and communication skills as well as service orientation
– Ability to work independently and with care, organizational skills and initiative
– Confident handling of MS Office applications and digital media
– Willingness to work regularly on Saturdays
