Register Networking and Small Talk in English Did you ever feel awkward at a presence of visitors or guests during a work-related event? Do you start sweating (gently) when you run out of things to say in front of a confident colleague? Learners of English often have more problems with the softer, social side of using the language at work than with goal-oriented aspects of business, such as presentations, meetings or negotiating. In particular, making small talk with English speakers can cause difficulties. This course is designed to help participants initiate and continue small talk with opening and follow-up questions while focusing on the factors that will make one an engaged communicator. Register English for shy People Feeling anxious about an upcoming presentation in English? Is public speaking one of your greatest fears? Unsure how you will sound in front of your guests who speak perfect English? The aim of this workshop is to help you gain confidence via interactive and practice sessions with attention to both rhetorical and non-verbal communication strategies. Remember: There is no ideal personality type to master a language. Plus, this course believes in the ‘power of introverts’ in a world that cannot stop talking. Register Accent Reduction and Speaking Flow This course is intended to help you improve your ability to communicate clearly and effectively by focusing on accent, intonation, flow and linguistic spontaneity. Foreign speakers of English often pronounce English based on their native sound system, stress, and intonation patterns which can vary greatly from those of the English language.
