Worldwide there are about 1,500 active volcanoes on land and many, some of them still unknown, under water.

they are closely watched by volcanologists.
The volcanologist Prof. Dr. Axel Schmitt (University of Heidelberg) and his students
will introduce the young audience to volcanoes and their secrets by means of lectures and experiments.
