All his life Friedrich Engels was a man full of contradictions. He is a scholar and revolutionary, a womanizer and a factory owner. He successfully runs his father’s factory in England and is nevertheless one of the great pioneers of communism. For Karl Marx he was not only a close friend and a source of inspiration, but also an indispensable patron. Just in time for his 200th birthday, Tilman Röhrig dedicates an exciting and instructive novel biography to him.

The actor and writer Tilman Röhrig has published a large number of youth books, including many historical youth novels such as Caravaggio’s Secret (2011) and Hannibal über die Alpen (2007).
For his work he was awarded the Große Rheinische Kulturpreis.
