“I see more than my eyes can see”. When the two non-fiction books Sehen und Hören (Seeing and Hearing) by the Ukrainian artist couple Romana Romanyschyn and Andrij Lessiw were published last year, no one could have guessed the significance that would be attached to these works. Now the pair has been nominated for the German Youth Literature Prize. The volumes, whose images were created using a sophisticated computer technique reminiscent of silkscreen printing, are as interesting for adults as they are for children.

Romana Romanyschyn and Andrij Lessiw, both born in 1984, live and work in Ukraine and organize aid for refugees from Lviv. They are coming to Germany on the occasion of the Frankfurt Book Fair and the award nomination. Their books were already highly praised in German feuilletons before the war.

The books are available for purchase at the DAI. All proceeds will be donated to aid projects in Ukraine.
