Sedaa

  • Mongolia meets Orient
  • Concert

The group Sedaa (Farsi for “voice”) combines in an extraordinary way archaic sounds of traditional Mongolian music with oriental harmonies and rhythms as well as elements of classical music, rock and pop to a fascinating whole.

The master singers Nasaa Nasanjargal, Naraa Naranbaatar and the virtuoso dulcimer player Ganzorig Davaakhuu, who were trained in their Mongolian homeland, together with the Iranian multi-instrumentalist Omid Bahadori, carry us off into a truly exotic world between the Orient and the Mongolian steppe.

Vibrating undertone singing and throat singing Hömii as well as the melancholic sounds of the horse head violin Morin Khuur merge together with pulsating drum rhythms to a mystical sound carpet.
