Reinhard Bingener & Markus Wehner
- The silent war
- How autocrats are attacking Germany
- In dialogue
China, Russia and Turkey – autocrats today repeatedly rely on quiet, covert and yet highly effective strategies to weaken Western democracies. And Germany has also long since become a target of these new hybrid wars, through the use of sabotage, false information and the instrumentalization of migration and cyber attacks. Reinhard Bingener and Markus Wehner show how this threat challenges our institutions and how democratic states can protect themselves.
Reinhard Bingeneris FAZ correspondent for Lower Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Bremen and the Protestant Church. He studied theology in Halle-Wittenberg, Chicago and Munich. He holds an honorary doctorate from the University of Münster.
Markus Wehner is FAZ correspondent for Saxony and Thuringia. He holds a doctorate in early Soviet history and was a correspondent in Moscow and Berlin.
