Raphaela Edelbauer
- The truer reality
- Literature
What is truth – and how far can you go for it? In her new novel, Raphaela Edelbauer tells of a radical search for the real in a world full of fake news, conspiracy theories and alternative facts.
At the center is the activist group Aletheia, which fights uncompromisingly for the absolute truth. When the young Byproxy meets the group after being released from assisted living and moves into their squat, she fights for her place between cleaning duties and philosophical debates. But the closer Aletheia gets to her big action, the more Byproxy’s past and the group’s claim to truth begin to falter.
Raphaela Edelbauer is a multi-award-winning Austrian author. Her novel Das flüssige Land (2019) was shortlisted for the German Book Prize, and DAVE, a highly acclaimed novel about artificial intelligence and the digital present, was published in 2021.
