What is the virus? The philosopher Peter Sloterdijk takes the current crisis as an occasion for a philosophical classification, which also looks at the role of philosophy itself. Is the priority of freedom being upgraded, or will it remain a “paranoid factor”? In addition to an inflationary term “crisis”, a medical concept of crisis, the decision on life and death, appears acute again. This also philosophically? Where does a “materialization” of the human being, renewed by the crisis, lead to?
The philosopher, cultural scientist and author, Peter Sloterdijk, who taught at the Staatliche Hochschule für Gestaltung in Karlsruhe until 2017, in conversation.
