Paul Maar & his musicians

  • Crooked fairy tales and weird stories
  • Concert, Literature

Typical Paul Maar: wry, quirky and simply hilarious. A dwarf who moves from the organic waste garbage can into Mr. Mockinpot’s cosy apartment? A talking vase that could fulfill wishes if it listened properly? A queen who forgets her reading glasses in the royal loo? And the skater in boots… Paul Maar’s imagination and language skills lend wings to classic fairy tale motifs in a whimsical, ironic and humorous way.
The bestselling author presents his quirky stories together with two well-known musicians: guitarist and percussionist Wolfgang Stute and all-round musician Konrad Haas, who plays the flute, saxophone and keyboard. With their new program, the trio will delight adults in particular with their virtuoso wordplay and droll wit.

Paul Maar is one of the most successful German authors of books for children and young people. With more than six million books sold, the Sams volumes are Maar’s most successful children’s book series.

Wolfgang Stute, founder of the MAREA project, composer, producer, guitarist and percussionist, has released numerous CDs. He has been the musical director for more than 30 different musicals and theaters. In 2013, he and cabaret artist Matthias Brodowy were awarded the German Cabaret Prize at the Unterhaus in Mainz.

Konrad Haas, founding member of the band Steinwolke, gives concerts or conducts as musical director with various orchestras, theater, opera, fairy tale or musical performances. He has written, composed, arranged and directed more than 50 stage productions.

The program is aimed at adults. Paul Maar’s family program will take place on Sunday, 22 September at 11 am
