Paul Maar

Generations of children – now parents themselves – have grown up with the dotted Sams. Now it is on the road with the blue dragon, and not only that: With “Das Sams und der blaue Drache” (Sams and the Blue Dragon), Paul Maar is going on tour with two well-known musicians, the guitarist and percussionist Wolfgang Stute and the all-round musician Konrad Haas, who plays the flute, saxophone or keyboard and who has set the Sams poems contained in this book to music and sings them together with Wolfgang Stute and Paul Maar.

Wolfgang Stute (born 1951) is the founder of the project “MAREA”. As a composer, producer, guitarist and percussionist he is an institution in his hometown Hannover. For various musicals and theaters (such as Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” by Heinz Rudolf Kunze in Hanover), he took over the musical direction. From 2004 to 2010 he did the management of Heinz Rudolf Kunze and founded with him the project “Räuberzivil”. Since 2010, Wolfgang Stute has been working with cabaret artist Matthias Brodowy, with whom he received the “German Cabaret Award” in 2013 at the Unterhaus in Mainz. He has released numerous CDs.

Konrad Haas (b.1954) enjoys touring with his band “Die Hausmeister”, giving concerts or conducting theater, opera, fairy tale or musical performances as music director (MD) with a wide variety of orchestras, preferably with music composed by him. After studying music in Paris (guitar, flute), he spent several years touring Germany and neighboring countries with his band “Steinwolke”. This was followed by two years with the ARD series “Lindenstraße”, for which he created the children’s band “Mini Pigs” and the smash hit “Die Kuh auf der Autobahn”. He wrote film scores and continuously composes, arranges and directs the music as MD for (so far) over 50 stage productions, writes lyrics and performs live on stage.
