Musical Sunday
- Olga Magidenko: Jason and Medea op. 70, Elves op. 83
- Marcus Imbsweiler & Timo Jouko Herrmann
- Literature
Olga Magidenko is the first contemporary composer to be a guest in the Musical Sunday series. Magidenko grew up and trained in the Soviet Union and has lived in Germany since 1994. Her oeuvre is wide-ranging and includes symphonic works, chamber music and operas. Magidenko writes music with an immense sense of sound, in which the content seeks out the form and not the other way around. This results in colorful and vivid structures such as the two tone poems Jason and Medea and Elfen. Timo Herrmann and Marcus Imbsweiler will present the two pieces and then talk to Olga Magidenko about her artistic work.
Two music enthusiasts will immerse the audience in the works in a deep and at the same time lively way: Marcus Imbsweiler publishes novels, including stories about composers. Timo Jouko Herrmann is a composer, violinist and guest conductor of the Heidelberg Symphony Orchestra.
