Mindfulness and Wine
- Josh Gale und Manuel Bretschi
- Workshop
What possibly could wine and mindfulness have to do with one another? The good news is, quite a lot actually. We will explore exactly this as we approach the Christmas rush. Carve out a special time for yourself to have a bit of fun, calm down with some delightful mindfulness yoga and meditation, and an even more delightful wine tasting. Our resident yogi Josh Gale will guide you through an energizing and de-stressing yoga class and mindfulness meditation. Professional wine expert Manuel Bretschi will then introduce you to four excellent wines, and how to drink them mindfully. You’ll leave this three-hour workshop wanting to skip down the street!
About the teachers:
Josh Gale is from Auckland, New Zealand and has been practicing yoga and meditation since 2002. He was a brahmacari (monk) for three years, serving in temples and ashrams in the UK and New Zealand. In 2006, Josh completed his first yoga teacher’s training course, and 10 years later, he completed another course, this time focused on a Buddhist mindfulness approach to yoga. He also works as a mindfulness teacher.
Always fascinated by wine, Manuel Bretschi started his wine career in a Michelin-awarded restaurant with a high-rated wine list. After gaining experience wine making in South Africa and different sommelier jobs there and in Germany, he studied international wine business at Geisenheim University. Now for more than five years he has worked as head of education at the German Wine Institute and is responsible for the largest wine school in Germany.
