Michael Braungart – Cradle to Cradle Wed, 21st October 2020, 8:00 pm Sustainable production in the cycle Geist Heidelberg, Lecture For the much-invoked reconciliation of economy and ecology, a production method could be decisive whose materials can be recovered and preserved after a defined period of use. Cradle to Cradle is more than just recycling or low-emission production, which enables society to reduce its ecological footprint. Less harmful is not useful, just a little less bad. The aim is not just to make materials a little more sustainable, but to convert them into nutrients for the bio- or technosphere. Human activity thus becomes useful for all living beings. The entrepreneur and environmental researcher Prof. Dr. Michael Braungart is professor at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg and founder and scientific director of the Hamburg Institute for Environmental Research.
