We will try to find an alternative date in 2021, which we will then publish here in good time. With everyone’s effort, can we protect and heal our critically ill planet Earth by adapting our lifestyles and managing the environment in a sustainable way? What scientific advances can help address this challenge in a promising way? And how can molecular biology help meet it? The “Environmental Research Initiative” pursues a special research approach that aims to develop concrete solutions to urgent environmental problems by combining extraordinary ideas with scientific and technological expertise. Prof. Matthias W. Hentze is Director of the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Heidelberg, Professor of Molecular Medicine at the University of Heidelberg, author of numerous publications and textbooks, and member of various national and international scientific societies. As part of the International Science Festival – Geist Heidelberg Hint Unfortunately, the event has to be cancelled.
