Manfred Spitzer

  • About doing and why it is so important
  • Lecture

The renowned brain researcher Manfred Spitzer sees himself as a warning and cautionary tale: against social isolation, digital dementia, the smartphone epidemic and the other consequences of the digitalization of our everyday lives that he sees as inevitable. In several bestsellers, he appeals to our common sense and calls on us to understand digitization as a threat to health, education and society. But does he see a way out? What can we do?

In an entertaining and clear way, he explains what exactly is meant by doing and why this is essential for us now.

Prof. Dr. Manfred Spitzer is the director of the Psychiatric University Hospital in Ulm and one of Germany’s best-known brain researchers. With publications such as Digital Dementia (2014), Cyberkrank (2015), Einsamkeit (2018) and Die Smartphone-Epidemie (2018), he enlivens the social debate.
