Katja Oskamp studied theater studies and later at the German Literature Institute in Leipzig; she worked as a dramaturge at the Volkstheater Rostock. Her best-known book Marzahn, mon amour. Geschichten einer Fußpflegerin (2019) was awarded the Dublin Literary Award in its English translation.
