The well-known picture and children’s book author Kathrin Schärer shows us how pictures become stories and how the drawing pencil can become a tool for thoughts, surprises and wonder. One afternoon with Kathrin Schärer, and being there is transformed into spaces of imagination.

Kathrin Schärer, born in Basel in 1969, studied drawing and handicrafts at the Hochschule für Gestaltung in Basel and graduated with the work Der Blick durchs Guckloch auf Bewegte Bilder (1995). She is particularly known for the books Mutig, mutig! (2014) and Rigo and Rosa (2016). Wenn Fuchs und Hase sich Gute Nacht sagen (2012) has been translated into Japanese and 13 other languages. Kathrin Schärer lives and works in Basel.
