Julia Shaw

Many people are attracted to more than one gender. And yet only a few admit to it. Julia Shaw dedicates her new book to the largest sexual minority – bisexual people. She makes bisexuality visible in history, culture and science, and uses her own search for identity to show why bisexuality is still socially overshadowed. In doing so, she starts from questions that move her herself: Where does our understanding of bisexuality come from? Why is it still so difficult to come out? How does sexual identity come about and why must diverse love finally be given more space?

Legal psychologist Dr. Julia Shaw conducts research at University College London. She is the author of The Deceptive Memory (2016) and Evil. The Psychology of Our Abysses (2018).
