Jazzclub Heidelberg at the DAI

The explosive music of the trio ESCALATOR is created in spontaneous playing, in an interflowing communication of direct ideas and detached playing art. Ken Vandermark is a great wind player, an actionist of the clear line. The interaction between him, Klaus Kugel and Mark Tokar works perfectly. Space, timbre, interaction, independence, transparency and a tremendous forward momentum: it’s fun to hear how the three of them let their music emerge in real time, to experience how everyone reacts immediately, how alertness is felt on all fronts.
