Jazzclub Heidelberg at the DAI

Trombone, baritone saxophone, drums – in this unusual instrumentation three Berlin musicians play with the idea of a miniature brass band. The deep instruments create a voluminous sound, the small instrumentation clarity and openness.

The pieces of the Insomnia Brass Band are formally simple and use collage-like set pieces of various jazz-related genres.
Improvisational surprises and risk-taking are essential to the band’s playing concept.
