Irina Chistiakova

Irina Chistiakova is a pianist and singer and was accepted to the Central Music School at the Tchaikovsky State Conservatory in Moscow at the age of six. Known as a child prodigy, she quickly gained international recognition through her performances in Russia, Germany and France. Her career was further boosted by films such as Russia’s Prodigies and The Competitors, in which she starred. Irina’s concerts have been broadcast worldwide and she has released several recordings. She graduated with honors from both the State Conservatory in Moscow and the University of the Arts in Berlin. She also graduated as an opera singer from the Bern University of the Arts.

Christiakova currently combines her concert activities with leading the piano department at the Ettlingen Music School and teaching piano at the Mendelssohn Bartholdy Academy of Music in Leipzig.

At the DAI, Irina Chistiakova plays works by Frédéric Chopin, Dora Pejačević, Franz Liszt, Robert Schumann and Franz Schubert.
