The Carnivore Theatre, based in Heidelberg, is committed to reviving the tradition of the historical travelling stage. For its current production, it has commissioned the Heidelberg playwright Ingeborg von Zadow to write a new, contemporary comedy along a historical travelling stage play.

Before the premiere in May 2020, Florian Kaiser (director of Theater Carnivore) and Ingeborg von Zadow will give insights into the special challenges of working for an unusual stage. Included: the theatre scientist Esther Pramschiefer, specialist for the historical travelling stage and a sneak preview reading from the new play “Love or Life!

The staging is made possible by funding from the Cultural Office of the City of Heidelberg and the Landesverband Freie Tanz- und Theaterschaffende Baden-Württemberg e. V (Baden-Württemberg Free Dance and Theatre Association).
