Hike & Think

  • Life - a circle?
  • Hike with lecture elements & discussion
  • Social Activity

Since time immemorial, people have not only encountered circular processes in the natural world around them, from the elliptical course of the earth through the solar system to the resulting seasons, but also in their own existence. Not only in the eternal alternation of day and night, exertion and rest and other metabolic necessities, but also over longer periods of time, there is often a circular structure in the life of the individual, as perhaps also in historical processes, which has always occupied philosophical reflection.

The DAI Library’s Philosophy Walks combine important philosophical themes with an extended walk in nature. In doing so, the embedding of the topic in our natural environment as well as our living environment is always addressed.

Dr. Max von Sponeck is a lecturer at the Philosophical Seminar and the PH and a lecturer in ethics at the SRH. He specializes in the contemporary philosophy of mind.

Carsten Dolbert is a geoscientist by training. He works as a project coordinator, trained as a systemic counselor and therapist and has been a volunteer in international disaster relief for many years.
