  • The Left-Handed Women
  • Literature

Nothing but their left-handedness connects the three women. But that’s enough. A chance encounter on a plane leads to a joint venture: a small cocktail bar where everything is tailored to the needs and habits of left-handed people. Thanks to the exquisite interior design and their knack for selecting the perfect drink, the three women become a local institution. Until one evening, when 35 French guests simply vanish from their care.
A “cheerful originality” also permeates this novel by Heinrich Steinfest, according to Piper Verlag.

Heinrich Steinfest is one of the most unconventional voices in contemporary German-language literature. The Austrian author has been awarded the German Crime Fiction Prize several times; in 2010, he received the Heimito von Doderer Literature Prize. A self-proclaimed homebody, he has lived in Albury (Australia), Vienna, and Stuttgart, and now calls the area near Heidelberg home.
