The colourful world of conspiracy theories – Giulia Silberberger will introduce them in her lecture: Between chemtrails and hollow world, many varieties of conspiracy ideological systems can be identified. For many people, they form an overall structure, a network with bizarre patterns of world interpretation and apparent inner coherence. – High time to take a closer look!

Silberberger is chairperson of Der goldene Aluhut gUG, a non-profit organization from Berlin that educates about conspiracy theories, sects and ideological abuse.

Together with her colleague Rüdiger Reinhardt and the media educator Alia Pagin, she will discuss in in-depth practical workshops on the following day (Saturday) how to deal with such conspiracy ideologies, why they appeal to so many people, what dangers exist for the individual and society and how to effectively disprove false reports.
Schools and educational institutions face particularly great challenges in this regard: Pagin presents effective media educational tools and methods, which are especially important for teachers and educators.

The workshops also deal with

Tools of the Trade – tools for debunking, source research, reverse image search, image forensics, fake game (with buzzers in teams), algorithms, filter bubbles and social media.
