- What kind of Europe do we need?
- A plea for a realistic policy
- Lecture
Crises, wars, loss of control? Europe is under pressure: the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine, unresolved migration issues and the rise of populist parties are putting the European order to its most difficult test since the Cold War, analyzes migration expert Gerald Knaus. Europe’s goal is to implement effective, humane control over migration that is anchored in the rule of law. What can a realistic and effective European policy look like that finds answers to these challenges? Knaus calls for courageous but pragmatic answers in order to preserve Europe’s peace, freedom and prosperity.
Gerald Knaus is an Austrian sociologist and migration researcher. He is co-founder and chairman of the think tank European Stability Initiative (ESI) and advises governments on migration and flight. Gerald Knaus is considered one of the architects of the EU-Turkey agreement.
