Fiction Writing II: Story Structure

  • For all kinds of prose
  • Alex David
  • Literature, Workshop, Writer's Room

Writing a story without considering structure is like trying to find your way out of the desert without a map (or a GPS!): either it will take a really long time or you will just give up. Structure ensures that you not only have enough to make a full, compelling story, but also provides a blueprint, making it easier to write. In addition, it provides direction and forward momentum for your readers, keeping them eagerly flipping the pages. This isn’t just about plot; it’s also about creating an emotional journey for your characters and making your audience care.

This workshop is suitable for writers of film, television, theater, novels, or anything else. It is not a pre-requisite to have taken Fiction Writing I first.

The course is in English, but writing can be done in any language.
