Empathy in Stormy Times – Empathy Conference – Day 2

  • 12th Empathy Conference - Day 2
  • Ulrike Ravens-Sieberer, Father Klaus Mertes, Jana Luntz, Deniz Yücel & Christina Bacher
  • Conference, Geist Heidelberg, Lecture

This symposium is about evaluating empathy in its medical-psychological, but also in its social practice. These are questions about cohesion, about how much differentiation we can expect of ourselves without suffering damage. What do institutions that have empathy written all over them tell us when we examine them? What reality is hidden behind the faith in Jesus, which is a faith in sacrifice, if we experience the church as a protection of perpetrators? What does the re-founding of PEN Berlin tell us about empathy? And an evaluation that concerns us all: What has Corona shown in terms of reality? Do we all need to rework?
