When Billie can no longer ask her mother any questions, she sets off alone in her old Nissan – with one big goal: to find her unknown father. Paradise Garden (2023) is a laid-back story about growing up under adverse circumstances and the happiness that the imagination can bring us. Elena Fischer, born in 1987, studied comparative literature and film studies. With an excerpt from her debut novel Paradise Garden, she won the 2021 Literature Prize of the state capital Mainz for young authors.
