Duoduo Xia was born in China and began playing the piano at the age of four. She received her musical training at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music with Prof. Yunlin Yang. Since 2023, she has been studying at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media in the class of Prof. Roland Krüger.
She has won prizes at several national and international competitions, including first prize at the Chopin International Youth Piano Competition, the Xinghai Piano Competition and the CCTV Piano & Violin Competition, as well as the Cleveland International Music Festival Piano Competition and the Russian Road to Mastery Competition. In addition to her solo activities, she is also active as a chamber musician and has gained experience in ensembles and projects in China and Germany, where she has performed works by Mozart, Schumann and Saint-Saëns.
At the DAI, Duoduo Xia will perform works by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Francis Poulenc and Franz Liszt.
