Discussion Group – US People, Politics, Presidency
- Social Activity
The current update on what moves people in the US. Growing splits in society, heated discussions on race and inequality, discussions on the electoral system, concerns about climate change with more intense fires and hurricanes – all in a highly charged political atmosphere. The group touches on these issues and others chosen by the participants and discusses them with the help of newspaper articles, TV interviews, and other media. Occasionally, experts from the US are involved online.
Discussions are led by Alyssa Niccolini. She has a doctoral degree in English Education from Columbia University, taught English at the high school and university level, and is an active member of academic organizations focused on humanities, gender, and education.
