Discussion Group – “US People, Politics, Presidency”
- Your current update on what moves people in the US
- Alyssa Niccolini
- Social Activity
The USA is undergoing a difficult time: Growing splits in society, heated discussions on race and inequality, discussions on the electoral system, climate change with more fires and hurricanes. And all this is happening in a politically highly charged atmosphere. In this discussion group special we will discuss these issues and others in depth – with the help of newspaper articles, TV interviews, commentaries and the like. Occasionally, experts from the US will be involved by zoom. An advanced level of English will be needed.
Discussions will be led by Alyssa Niccolini. Alyssa has a doctoral degree in English Education from Columbia University, taught English at high school and university level and is an active member of academic organizations focusing on humanities, gender and education.
Meetings take place in the DAI library and are free of charge. Please sign up with: Jutta Wagner, jutta.wagner@dai-
