Fabian Scheidler’s book, “Das Ende der Megamaschine. Geschichte einer scheiternden Zivilisation” (2015) takes its reader on a historical journey, tracing power back to its economic, military and ideological origins. Professor Ulrich Duchrow and Scheidler discuss our exit from the capitalist mega machine and the role which religion might play in this context.

Fabian Scheidler, born in 1968, works as a freelance author for print media, television, theater and opera. In 2009, he co-founded the independent television magazine, “Kontext TV”, which deals with questions of global justice.

Ulrich Duchrow, born in 1935, is Professor for Systematic Theology at the University of Heidelberg, moderator for Kairos Europa and a member of the academic advisory board of the Attac network
