Everyone has the right to a clean, healthy and sustainable environment – and a healthy environment is essential for the realization of a large number of human rights. There is therefore an urgent need for action in view of the many environmental threats to which humans and nature are exposed. In his lecture, Daniel Magraw, an expert in environmental, human and international law, will analyze the immediate and long-term threats posed by climate change. He looks at both the present and the future in order to clarify the rights of present and future generations.

Daniel Magraw is President Emeritus of the Center for International Environmental Law (CIEL) and Lecturer and Senior Fellow at the Foreign Policy Institute at the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins University. He has worked in the U.S. government, NGOs, intergovernmental organizations, private legal practice, business, and academia.
