The writer Rachel Carson (1907 – 1964), the researcher Lynn Margulis (1938 – 2011) and the philosopher Donna Haraway (born 1944) form an ecological triumfeminate. These eco-visionaries described how closely interwoven human and more-than-human life on Earth is and were quick to rethink nature and culture. Charlotte Kerner, born in Speyer, worked as a science journalist for ZEIT, Geo and Emma, among others. She has made a name for herself as an author with biographies of female scientists and her international bestseller Blueprint (2008). She was awarded the German Youth Literature Prize and the GEDOK Schleswig-Holstein Literature Prize.
