The environmental researcher and agricultural biologist Prof. Dr. Josef Settele works at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research in Leipzig (UFZ) and has been dedicated to researching and maintaining biodiversity for decades. He has been a member of the German government’s Expert Council on the Environment since 2020 and was Vice President of the World Biodiversity Council (IPBES) until 2019.
