How do words become images? In this workshop, children and teens discover how to creatively explore poems and short texts and transform them into their own works of art. Together, we’ll read selected texts, discuss their meanings, and approach them in a playful way through activities such as pantomime. Afterward, the impressions gained will be translated into art using graphic and visual techniques. Lines, shapes, and structures help bring moods, thoughts, and inner images to life.
The workshop creatively combines literature and art, inviting participants to rediscover language, unleash their imagination, and develop their own unique forms of expression.
Annette Engellandt studied art education and art history. After many years as a co-owner of Leander’s Bookstore in Mannheim and Heidelberg, she worked as an art teacher at the St. Leon-Rot Private High School until 2021. In her workshops, she combines her passion for literature, art, and creative design.
