35th Heidelberg Piano Week

Yi-Chen Chan, born in Taiwan in 2000, began learning the piano at the age of five. She won first prize in numerous competitions in Taiwan and was a semi-finalist several times in international competitions such as the James Mottram Piano Competition in Manchester and the Città di Cantù competition in Italy. In 2024, she was selected from more than 600 applicants to take part in the Glocal Piano Project of the Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition.

As a musician, she has already performed on stages around the world, including in Germany, England, France and Italy in addition to her native Taiwan. She has taken part in various festivals, including the Euro Music Festival and Academy, the International Maestro Piano Festival and the NTUE Piano Festival in Taiwan. Yi-Chen Chan is currently a master’s student at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media under Prof. Dr. Alexander Schimpf.

At the DAI, Yi-Chen Chan will play works by Frédéric Chopin, Alexander Nikolayevich Scriabin, Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel.
