Thomas Haberlah, born in 1962 in Waibstadt near Heidelberg, studied piano in Mannheim with Hans Thürwächter and at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media with David Wilde. After completing his studies, he won the 3rd International Franz Liszt Piano Competition in Utrecht in 1992.
In addition to his solo and chamber music activities as a pianist, he has been a lecturer for musical ensemble work at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media since 1993. He is a regular accompanist at the ISA Festival Payerbach (Austria), the Mendelssohn Festival Hamburg and the Ljubljana Festival (Slovenia), among others. Concert tours as a chamber music partner and soloist have taken him as far as South Korea and Japan.
At the DAI, Thomas Haberlah plays works by Franz Liszt, Sergej Bortkiewicz, Conrad Ansorge and Eugen d’Albert.
